Tokyo Vacation Photographer

Hi, I'm Christopher Jue, a Tokyo-based photographer for travelers and locals. I take you to the places you came to see, plus the backstreets you'd never find alone, and photograph you there looking like yourself. Couples, surprise proposals, families and solo travelers: no stiff posing and no experience needed.

Tokyo Photoshoots for Every Kind of Trip

Couples & Surprise Proposals

Planning a surprise proposal in Tokyo? I'll help you pick the spot, stay out of sight until the big moment and capture the reaction. Favourite locations include the rowboats at Chidorigafuchi in cherry blossom season, quiet Asakusa backstreets and the lights of Shibuya. Couples' sessions and anniversaries are just as relaxed.

Family Photoshoots

Get the whole family in the photos for once. Kimono photoshoots around Senso-ji in Asakusa are a favourite, with the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree as backdrops. Kids get time to play, and the pace suits little legs.

Solo Travel Photoshoots

Travelling alone shouldn't mean coming home with only selfies. We'll explore Shibuya Crossing, Harajuku, Marunouchi and hidden yokocho alleys while I photograph you: part photoshoot, part local guide.

Night & Neon Portraits

After dark, Tokyo becomes a film set. Shinjuku's lantern alleys, Kabukicho's neon and the view over Shibuya Crossing make bold, cinematic portraits.

How It Works

Step 1: Tell me about your trip: your dates, who's coming and what you'd love to photograph.

Step 2: We plan the route together, including spots most visitors never find.

Step 3: Enjoy the session. I'll guide you on where to stand and what to do, so you never feel awkward on camera.

Step 4: Receive your edited, high-resolution photos in a private online gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the best places for a photoshoot in Tokyo?

Shibuya Crossing, Asakusa and Senso-ji, Harajuku, the Imperial Palace area, Chidorigafuchi in cherry blossom season and Shinjuku at night. I'll suggest a route that fits your time and style.

What should we wear?

Solid colours and soft patterns photograph best. Renting a kimono in Asakusa makes a beautiful family or couples shoot.

How do you keep a proposal a surprise?

We plan everything by message beforehand. I stay out of sight until the question, then step in for portraits of you both.

When is cherry blossom season in Tokyo?

Usually late March to early April. Those dates book up early, so reserve as soon as you know your travel plans.
